KUALA LUMPUR – Police have arrested the father of a 15-year-old child actor over allegations that he had sexually abused his daughter several years ago.

The suspect is now under remand until next Monday (September 12) to facilitate investigations.

Subang Jaya district police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the man was arrested in his home in Kedah at 2.25pm yesterday, with his mobile phone seized for analysis by the police’s Forensics Department.

“The suspect’s urine test came out negative and he does not have any prior criminal records,” Wan Azlan said in a statement today, as quoted by The Vibes’ Bahasa Malaysia sister publication Getaran.

He added that the suspect had been brought to the magistrate in Shah Alam, who approved the remand order lasting until Monday.

Wan Azlan said the case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for outrage of modesty.

He also cited Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 for neglect and Section 292 of the Penal Code for possession of pornographic material.

This follows a police report lodged on Monday night by his daughter, who alleged sexual abuse and neglect.

Prior to the arrest, the man said he was shocked by the allegations and had filed his own police report on the matter.

“I had also filed my own police report last Sunday in Bandar Baru Kedah, since I am currently staying here to provide care for my ailing father,” he told Getaran.

The man also vehemently denied any wrongdoing on his part, labelling the claims made by his daughter as “extreme and crazy.”

On Saturday (September 3), the child actor was featured in a podcast by the Bros Gang TV YouTube channel, where she detailed the alleged mistreatment she suffered at the hands of a “manipulative” father.

Apart from allegedly being forced to watch pornography with the father and his friends when she was only five years old, she said he had also coerced her into witnessing him masturbate while touching her inappropriately.

The child actor said her mother had to bear her father’s financial debts even after their divorce, adding that he would disappear whenever the family needed help.

The abuse had allegedly taken place between 2013 and 2017.
