Bintulu set to host state-level Malaysia Day celebrations tomorrow

MIRI – The coastal town of Bintulu in Sarawak will be hosting its state-level Malaysia Day celebrations, themed Keluarga Malaysia Teguh Bersama (Malaysian Family Stronger Together) at the site of its old airport site tomorrow. 

According to the state public communications unit, the full rehearsal for the event went smoothly and without any hitches, last night.

State Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, who is in charge of the celebrations, was also present to oversee the final preparations.

According to the unit, at least 5,000 people are expected to gather at the site for the celebrations, which will commence at 7pm.

The celebrations will be headlined with performances by Datuk M Nasir, Andi Bernadee (Sabah), Ramles Walter, Florence Lo, Claudia Geres, Safar Ghafar, Sazia Selir, and Max Kueh.

It will then culminate with a rhythmic fireworks display.

Sarawak Governor Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud and wife Toh Puan Raghad Kurdi Taib will be the guests of honour, while Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg and wife Puan Sri Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang are also expected to attend the celebrations. – The Vibes, September 15, 2022
