PETALING JAYA – The Election Commission (EC) is being questioned over moves to delay the counting of votes in Saujana here, as well as to prevent Pakatan Harapan (PH) counting agents from entering counting centres.

Sg Buloh’s Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Datuk R. Ramanan said the counting of ballots in SMK Saujana Utama – one of the largest polling centres with 13,700 voters – was delayed by an hour.

“Earlier they said they would start at 6.30pm (half an hour after polls closed), then they said 7pm. (Then) they are going to continue again at 8pm.

“The ballot boxes are just sitting there. This is ridiculous,” he told The Vibes.

“Has the cheating begun?”

Ramanan also claimed his counting agents were prevented from entering the counting centre at Dewan MBSA Kg Baru Sg Buloh.

“It was not until we called the counting sergeant that they were allowed in. But other characters who we don’t know were entering the centre,” Ramanan claimed.

He said in Kubu Gajah the voter turnout is said to be 90% – which he feels is an exaggeration.

Ramanan fears that manipulation of ballots will be taking place via the ballot boxes.

“If people are not allowed into the counting centres then there must be something fishy going on,” he said.
