KUALA LUMPUR – The state election in Negri Sembilan next year could see Pakatan Harapan (PH) working with Barisan Nasional (BN), if the coalition’s leadership agrees to it, state PH chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said.
Utusan Malaysia quoted Aminuddin, who is also Negri Sembilan menteri besar, as saying that he had no issue if PH decided that it should collaborate with BN but would leave the decision to the leadership.
“If it is decided by the PH leadership, we will follow. At state level, I have no problems,” he was reported saying at an event in Port Dickson.
Aminuddin added that even now, the state assembly was peaceful with assemblymen from across the aisle working well together.
Negri Sembilan is one of three PH-led states – the other two being Penang and Selangor – that did not dissolve their assemblies for the 15th general election (GE15) on November 19.
Negri Sembilan has 36 state seats, of which PH currently holds 20 and BN 16.
Following GE15, PH and BN have cooperated to form the state governments in Perak and Pahang, as well as the federal government together with Gabungan Parti Sarawak and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah. – The Vibes, December 1, 2022
