KOTA KINABALU – All seven Sabah Pakatan Harapan (PH) assemblymen have decided not to support any backdoor government.
Chairman Datuk Christina Liew said they view the alleged ousting of the state government seriously, stressing the need for stability in the state.
The seven PH assemblymen are Liew (Api-Api), Datuk Poon Ming Fung (Tg Papat), Datuk Ewon Benedick (Kadamaian), Phoong Jin Zhe (Luyang), Jannie Lasimbang (Kapayan), Tan Lee Fatt (Likas), and Peto Galim (Inanam).
“We view this matter seriously and have discussed it among ourselves.
“We wish to announce we have not provided any statutory declarations to any parties after 2020.
“If there are any claims that we made (any statutory declarations)… This is not true. Our last statement came after the state assembly sittings in November.
“We also wish to state our stand and decision en-bloc to ensure political stability in Sabah, so development and service to the people remain smooth,” she said.
Additionally, Liew said any effort to form a new government must be based on being constructive and in accordance with policy, for fear of political repercussions.
Earlier today, PBS deputy president Datuk Joachim Gunsalam said a vote of confidence can be held at the state assembly to decide on Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor’s legitimacy as chief minister.
Liew’s statement contradicts GRS secretary-general Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, who claimed all the PH assemblymen had submitted statutory declarations to support Hajiji. – The Vibes, January 5, 2023
