SANDAKAN – Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Datuk Ramli Mohd Nor called on MPs from the opposition bloc to submit more questions for ministers at the Parliament in Kuala Lumpur today.

He said only three questions out of 14 submitted to the Dewan Rakyat for the ministers’ question time (MQT) were from opposition MPs, resulting in an imbalanced question-and-answer session.

“As of the closing date for submitting questions to ministers (at about 10am yesterday), we received 14 questions and only three were from the opposition.

“I recommend that they submit more questions. Please grab the opportunity to interact with the ministers,” Ramli told the august House this morning.

He said the opposition bloc would be at a loss for not using the space to pose more questions.

“Maybe a lot (of MPs) are new….grab this opportunity. We don’t want (the Parliament session) to be one-sided,” he added.

Only three questions were selected for MQT today, all from the government bloc.

Noticeably, only a handful of opposition MPs are present at the Dewan Rakyat for this morning’s session.

This is after it is learnt that the Perikatan Nasional (PN) MPs had been asked to go to the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC)’s headquarters in solidarity of PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who was summoned by the commission officers, today. – The Vibes, March 9, 2023
