IPOH – The Housing and Local Government Ministry will hold discussions with the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry on the organisation of the Ramadan Rahmah Bazaar nationwide.

Deputy Local Government Development Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir said his ministry welcomed the initiative mooted by the domestic trade ministry, which will offer reasonable bazaar lot rental rates to traders.

“We will hold further discussions with the domestic trade ministry regarding this initiative soon because its implementation involves the local authorities, which will issue permits to bazaar traders,” he said.

He said this to reporters after officiating the Green Urban Forum (GUF) 2023 in conjunction with the National Landscape Day celebration here today.

On February 22, Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub said his ministry would hold an engagement session with local authorities and industry players to get their views on the organisation of the Ramadan Rahmah Bazaar.

Meanwhile, Akmal Nasrullah said the ministry is now focusing on balanced urban planning to ensure that residents have comfortable living spaces.

On the organisation of GUF 2023, he said the forum serves as a platform for experts to share their views and ideas on various aspects of green townships, as well as landscape development and management. – Bernama, March 10, 2023
