HAINAN – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday spent time mingling and breaking fast with the local Muslim community as well as the Malaysian delegation that participated in the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2023 (BFA 2023) here.

At the event, Anwar led the Maghrib prayers and performed the Tarawih prayers at the Boao Golden Coast Hotel.

A representative of the local Muslim community, Chen Yijiang, said he had lived in Malaysia for 10 years and was happy to meet and break fast with the prime minister.

Chen, the imam of the Nankai Mosque in Tianya district, hopes Anwar’s visit will further strengthen the relationship between Malaysia and China.

The prime minister arrived on a special plane yesterday evening to attend BFA 2023, which also marked the beginning of his four-day official visit to China.

This is his ninth international visit after being sworn in as the 10th prime minister last November. – Bernama, March 30, 2023
