KUCHING – Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil has denied that Santubong PKR chief Ahmad Nazib Johari is the new director of Sarawak’s Community Communications Department (JKOM).

“Not true. JKOM has informed me that Nazib is not JKOM Sarawak director,” he told The Borneo Post when asked to confirm Nazib’s appointment as the new JKOM Sarawak director.

Fahmi said he was made to understand that the position will be filled by a candidate proposed by Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg.

“I am also made to understand that YAB Premier has proposed a name for the post, which will be used.”

Speculation of Nazib’s appointment as the new director of JKOM Sarawak came following Sarawak PKR chief Roland Engan’s Facebook post on Friday.

In his Facebook post, Roland congratulated Nazib for being appointed as “Sarawak communications director”. – Borneo Post Online, April 9, 2023
