KUALA LUMPUR – Traffic at several major highways nationwide was smooth as of 10pm on the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri today.

A Highway Authority (MHA) spokesman said traffic was smooth from Kuala Lumpur heading towards the Gombak toll plaza compared to earlier in the evening when there was congestion.

“Traffic flow was also smooth on the East Coast Highways 1 and 2 (LPT 1 and 2) in both directions,” the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, traffic was slow on the uphill stretch of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) heading north from Tapah to Gua Tempurung.

“An accident just occurred at KM123.7 northbound from Sg Dua to Bertam, with traffic congestion stretching almost 6km,” the spokesman said.

The public can stay updated on the latest traffic situation through the Plusline toll-free line at 1800-88-0000, the Twitter page at www.twitter.com/plustrafik, or the MHA line at 1800-88-7752 and the Twitter page at www.twitter.com/llminfotrafik. – Bernama, April 22, 2023
