KOTA KINABALU – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be attending the Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house hosted by the state government at the Sabah International Convention Centre on Sunday.

Sabah Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Ariffin Arif said the prime minister has accepted the state government’s invitation to attend the event. 

“The prime minister will be joined by Sabah Governor Tun Juhar Mahiruddin and his wife Toh Puan Norlidah R.M. Jasni, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and state cabinet members during the celebrations.”

Ariffin is the organising chairman of the Sabah Hari Raya open house. 

The public are invited to the open house 10am onwards.

Anwar is also scheduled to attend open houses organised by the state governments in Selangor, Penang, and Negri Sembilan.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s Department said there would be no Raya open house at his official residence in Seri Perdana but will host it separately in the Perikatan Nasional-held states of Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu.

The national-level open house programme in Kedah is expected to host some 25,000 guests.

Meanwhile, the other open houses are set to see 15,000 guests at each location.

The open house in Kedah will be held on April 29 at Alor Star’s Raia Hotel from 10am to 2pm with the Home Ministry spearheading the event.

As for the programme in Kelantan, it is scheduled for May 12 at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium from 7pm to 10.30pm.

In Terengganu, the open house will be held on May 13 at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin’s Dewan Al-Muktafi Billah Shah from 7pm to 10.30pm. – The Vibes, April 27, 2023
