ALOR STAR – Pakatan Harapan (PH) and its partners in the federal unity government have unveiled a double-decker bus that will tour the northern region to galvanise support ahead of the Kedah election.

PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the bus, which is equipped with state-of-the-art communications equipment and a large poster featuring Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, will start its journey from Bukit Kayu Hitam to Sg Petani.

He added it will be an outreach platform for PH and its partners to publicise government policies and to rebut any slander.

“With this, our leaders will be able to campaign tirelessly to ensure that the new political bloc can compete with the ruling Perikatan Nasional coalition in Kedah to win votes in the state election.”

He said this last night when attending the mega Kedah Madani gathering with Anwar at Dataran Stargate here.

Saifuddin said the unity government has no choice but to use a different approach to counter the slander posted on social media.

Meanwhile, Parti Amanah Nasional deputy president Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub said the federal cabinet has not been involved in any political activities since it was formed last November.

“Our efforts are based on the need for good governance, and we will liaise with anyone including the opposition to ensure the people’s needs are served.”

“The government of today is not about politics but to govern effectively in a challenging era of rising living costs and a sluggish global economy.”

He added that it is important that politicians know when to engage in politics and when to govern. – The Vibes, April 29, 2023
