ALOR STAR – The special Aidilfitri aid that was supposed to have been paid to the chairmen and secretaries of the village chief council and mosque officials in the state on April 18 has been delayed to May 17.

Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said the delay is due to several unforeseen circumstances.

“The chairmen and secretaries of the village chief council and mosque officials comprising imam, bilal and siak will also receive an additional RM100, taking the total amount they will each receive to RM300,” he said after the executive council meeting at Wisma Darul Aman, here, today.

On April 12, the Kedah government announced a special Aidilfitri assistance of RM200 to 3,924 recipients, comprising chairmen and secretaries of village chief council as well as mosque officials in the state.

The aid was supposed to have been paid directly into the recipients’ accounts on April 18, involving an allocation of RM784,800, whereby the 772 council chairmen, 766 secretaries and 2,386 mosque officials will each receive RM200. – Bernama, May 3, 2023
