MIRI – A collision between two cars along the Selangau to Sibu route of the Pan Borneo Highway in central Sarawak saw five people killed, including a 2-year-old boy, while five others were seriously injured.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department in a press statement said each car had five people each. 

Three of the victims were in one car while two were in the other.

The rest suffered various degrees of injuries and are currently warded.

The department identified the toddler as Collin Steward, while the three other deceased individuals were Alicesha Langi, 24, Marcos Manai, 26 and Merican Lagi, 61.

The identity of the fifth deceased is not yet confirmed.

The Selangau Bomba station had attended to the emergency, and police are now probing into the tragedy. – The Vibes, June 5, 2023
