KUALA LUMPUR – The social media user who previously shared a tweet praying for the demise of PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang appears to have apologised for his remarks.
This comes after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim shared his displeasure with the user in question, Zaki Yamani, who is said to be a PKR supporter.
Once again taking to Twitter today, Zaki ostensibly expressed his supposed remorse over his comments, addressing his apology to Hadi’s “wives and family.”
“In light of (Anwar’s) and my friends’ views, I apologise to (Hadi’s) wives and family if my remarks caused any hurt feelings,” he said in a follow-up tweet to his original posting.

Yesterday, Anwar, who is also Pakatan Harapan president, called on Zaki to apologise for his post, saying: “I strongly object to and am displeased (with Zaki’s) disrespectful tweet, and I direct him to apologise immediately.”
This followed news reports of Hadi’s deteriorating health, with the Marang MP having been hospitalised for treatment, as informed by his son, Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi last Sunday.
DAP veteran Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang also expressed support for Anwar in asking the social media user to apologise for his post.
“In my close to six decades in Malaysian politics, I have never harboured the hope that my political opponents would die,” Lim said yesterday while wishing Hadi a swift recovery.
It has since been reported that Hadi was moved out of the coronary care unit to a normal hospital wardnormal ward of a hospital. According to Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah, Hadi is still receiving treatment and remains under observation. – The Vibes, July 3, 2023
