KUALA LUMPUR – Police have received a total of 31 reports around the country pertaining to the statement by Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor who is alleged to have insulted the Selangor sultan.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said police had on Wednesday opened investigation papers into Sanusi.

“As of 11am today, we have received 31 reports.

“Investigations are being conducted by a special team from Bukit Aman focusing on the 3Rs, which are race, religion, and royalty,” he said.

He said Sanusi’s statement had also been recorded and the case was being investigated under the Communications and Multimedia Act and the Sedition Act.

Meanwhile, in Alor Star, Sanusi has refused to comment on his statement during a ceramah in Selangor which allegedly insulted the Selangor sultan.

“I do not want my words or statements to be spun and taken out of context by the media,” he said.

In a video clip that went viral which is believed to have been recorded when giving the ceramah, Sanusi allegedly belittled the appointment of the Selangor menteri besar by the sultan. – The Vibes, July 14, 2023
