KOTA KINABALU – A total of 23 health facilities including clinics in Sabah, and 36 others in Sarawak, will undergo repair works to better serve the people.
Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa in a Facebook post said the cost for the repairs are RM10,839,850 for Sabah and RM8,515,000 for Sarawak.
“Of the 23 projects in Sabah, two projects have since been completed. 17 are in the implementation stage and four in the early stage of implementation.
“In Sarawak, five have been completed, 29 currently being implemented, and two in the early stage of implementation.”
Many remote areas in Sabah and Sarawak have limited access to healthcare facilities due to their geographical locations, dense rainforests, and difficult terrain.
This makes it challenging for people living in rural areas to access essential health services. – The Vibes, July 26, 2023
