PETALING JAYA – An auxiliary policeman recently made waves on TikTok with a video of what he allegedly saw while on duty.

Using the name @Ikhmal24434, he has 77,000 followers on the social media platform and is known for sharing about his life as an auxiliary policeman.

However, one particular video led some people to wonder if what he recorded was genuine or edited.

A few days ago, Ikhmal posted that after eight years on the job, he saw a “pontianak” (phantom).

He said normally he would just hear the sounds, but on that fateful day, he felt the urge to start recording a video.

That was when he caught a white figure on camera, complete with what sounded like a creepy laughter.

“If I talk about it, no one will believe me, so here’s proof,” he wrote on the video, which has since garnered over 227,000 likes.

Speaking to the media after the video went viral, Ikhmal stressed that he did not doctor the footage. He stressed that the recording is genuine and made using his smartphone.

He said he “bumped” into the “pontianak” one night at about 2am while on patrol with his colleagues.

What captured their attention was when they heard rustling coming from a no-entry area. They decided to check it out in their multi-purpose vehicle.

They were shocked to see the alleged “pontianak” and this was when Ikhmal decided to whip out his smartphone to record their sighting.

He said it was up to the viewers to believe him, adding that he had no reason to lie as he experienced it himself.

Ikhmal said the area where they spotted the “pontianak” used to be a palm oil plantation site which was later developed.

He claimed that some of the old-timers in the area had also spotted the “pontianak” previously, but no one recorded it. – The Vibes, August 4, 2023
