PETALING JAYA – The world is a huge place, and many of us have dreams of places we would like to live in.
In episode 49 of the Keluar Sekejap podcast, former Umno man Khairy Jamaluddin and his co-host Shahril Hamdan were fielding questions from listeners.

One listener, M. Izzat asked: “What is your dream place to stay besides Malaysia?”
Shahril hesitated, asking instead if this was a trap question.
“Just say the obvious answer…don’t think you should lie. Just say London,” Khairy quipped.
Shahril then said if he was asked this three years ago, his answer would be London, but the city feels different now after Brexit.
When Shahril returned the question to Khairy, the former Rembau MP responded, without skipping a beat, Medina.
“I feel a higher purpose and spirituality there...I want to be close to Raudhah, to the Prophet’s (Muhammad) tomb…that’s where I feel most peaceful,” Khairy replied.
Shahril then asked when Khairy was last in Medina, to which the latter said five years ago.
A playful banter ensued, which could be seen as a possible jibe at Umno leaders.
“A bit long, right, for a place you want to…” Shahril said.
“Yes, but I'm also not the type to go before an annual general meeting, before a general election. When I go, there has to be a purpose, (you get the) call to go,” Khairy replied.
In comments to the short clip on Twitter, user @eKharus said: “...I suppose if he goes with PAS in the future, can always replay this vid for some religious street cred.”
Lel KJ screwed over Shahril to get him to say London (shocking!) then did a religious shtick for himself. I suppose if he goes with PAS in the future, can always replay this vid for some religious street cred ? https://t.co/12Rs1KWe4i

“With that answer, it is very fitting for KJ to join PAS,” said @OmarNoraishah. – The Vibes, September 17, 2023
