PETALING JAYA – Khairy Jamaluddin mocked DAP stalwart Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang’s “stunned and shocked” reaction to the much-talked-about discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) given to Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

In a Facebook post this morning, Khairy asked if that was all Lim had to say about Umno president Zahid’s recent DNAA verdict.

Khairy was referring to a statement issued by Lim on Friday, in which the only mention of Zahid’s DNAA was made in one sentence: “I was stunned and shocked by the DNAA development with regard to the Deputy Prime Minister and Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.”

“If you read Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang’s full statement, there is only one sentence that touched on the DNAA issue,” Khairy said.

“Stunned. Shocked. That’s it. Is that it? You have had so much to say about everything throughout your career and you are now reduced to this?” asked the former Umno leader.

Khairy remarked that the remainder of Lim’s statement was the latter blaming Perikatan Nasional (PN) for dividing the people.

He sarcastically said that it was good work by Lim in “cleansing” DAP’s new “political BFF (best friend forever)”.

In another post, Khairy took a jibe at a DAP MP.

Sharing a screenshot of an article where DAP’s Young Syefura Othman spoke about changing the youth’s perception on politics, Khairy wrote a short poem.

“Siakap senohong gelama ikan duri, sila lengkapkan pantun ini.”

The poem is an old Malay proverb, and the second line says “bercakap bohong lama-lama mencuri”.

It means when a person is used to telling lies, one day, they will start stealing.

Over on Twitter, some noticed Khairy’s “attacks” on DAP this morning, with Shah Alam DAP chairman Shakir Ameer saying, “Today, Khairy woke up and went on a rampage against DAP first thing in the morning. God knows what happened to him last night.”

Another Twitter user @wilsomyimby replied to Shakir, saying, “Manchester United”.

Manchester United suffered a 1-3 loss to Brighton over the weekend and Khairy is a known Manchester United fan.

Previously, Khairy slammed DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke over the same DNAA issue.

Reacting to Loke’s call for the attorney-general to explain the DNAA, Khairy slammed DAP as having been reduced to what they used to accuse MCA of being.

“DAP has no more red lines,” Khairy had said, also going so far as labelling the party as a “running dog and enabler of abuse of power”.

“But they know it doesn’t matter. 95% of Chinese voters will continue to support them,” Khairy had said.

The prosecution’s move to apply for a DNAA in Zahid’s Yayasan Akalbudi trial was heavily criticised by many.

The Umno president was facing 47 charges of corruption pertaining to the charitable organisation’s funds, but the judge ruled in favour of the prosecution’s DNAA application. – The Vibes, September 18, 2023
