KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to explain the reasons leading to the discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) granted to Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in the Dewan Rakyat tomorrow.

Minister in Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman said Anwar was expected to be in the house between 2.30pm to 3.30pm during his winding-up session for the 12th Malaysian Plan (12MP) mid-term review.

Azalina was responding to a question from Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan (Perikatan Nasional-Kota Baru) who asked if Anwar would answer questions from members of Parliament (MP) regarding the deputy prime minister’s DNAA in court.

“God willing (the session will be) between 2.30pm to 3.30pm tomorrow,” Azalina told the august house today.

Anwar had last Friday said he may reply to questions with regards to Zahid's DNAA in Parliament.

On September 4, Zahid was granted a DNAA for all 47 graft charges involving Yayasan Akalbudi funds by the High Court.

This is after Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar applied for the charges against Zahid to be dropped at the onset of the hearings. – The Vibes, September 18, 2023
