MIRI – Fire razed a block of classrooms used by preschoolers on the outskirts of the city this morning.

Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries in the 7am incident.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department today said the preschool block that was destroyed is located inside Sekolah Jenis Kerajaan Tukau.

The school is located at Jalan Bakam near the Miri to Bintulu coastal highway.

The department said fire units from Miri were deployed to the scene following an emergency alert and quickly contained the fire.

The fire was doused at about 7.30am and the cause is being probed. – The Vibes, September 21, 2023
