PETALING JAYA - Police are investigating an incident between a delivery rider and a security guard at a building at Lingkaran TRX here which has since gone viral on social media.

Based on viral videos, the incident was sparked after the rider was denied entry into the premises by the guard.

The security guard had apparently prevented the rider from parking the motorcycle in front of the building and refused to let him in.

The rider then claimed that the customer told him to enter the building, leading to a war of words between the duo.

The guard then allegedly called another security guard in a blazer for help.

In one of the viral videos, the security guard in a maroon blazer is seen holding down the rider by pressing his arm on the rider’s neck.

A woman recording the video kept telling the guard to let the rider go and not to hurt him. She is believed to be the customer who ordered the delivery to the building.

However, the guard refused to let him go because he believed the rider would “jump” at the other foreign security guard.

Police received a report on November 3 around 2.34pm.

Dang Wangi Deputy Police Chief Nazron Abd Yusof said that they had opened an investigation under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.

"We have identified a witness and have called the person to record a statement," he said.

He also urged anyone with information to contact the police. - The Vibes, November 4, 2023
