MALAYSIA’S top women’s doubles pair, Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah, reinforced their status as one of the world’s elite pairs by capturing the 2025 Arctic Open title in emphatic style on Sunday in Vantaa, Finland.
Currently ranked world number two, Pearly and Thinaah delivered a commanding performance to dispatch Japan’s third seeds Rin Iwanaga and Kie Nakanishi 21-7, 21-9 in just 32 minutes.
The Malaysians were in control from the outset, playing with consistency, precision and pace, while committing very few unforced errors — leaving their Japanese opponents unable to mount any meaningful resistance.
With this title, Pearly and Thinaah have now secured their second tournament victory of the year, having also lifted the Thailand Open in May.
More notably, the Arctic Open triumph marks their sixth final appearance in what has been a highly successful 2025 season.
Earlier in the year, the pair finished runners-up at the Indonesia Masters (January), Indonesia Open (June), Japan Open (July) and the prestigious BWF World Championships in Paris this past August.
