CLOSE friend and training partner of Conor McGregor, Dillon Danis, has been told to leave MMA after his recent arrest in America.
A long-time rival, UFC legend Michael Bisping, whom Dillon once claimed to have offered a boxing match, has implored the New Jersey native to quit the sport.
Dillon, who was arrested outside a New Jersey bar and charged with disorderly conduct after he allegedly “created a disturbance”, was said to be involved in an altercation with a security guard earlier this month.
In eyewitness footage shared by someone at the bar, which went viral on social media, Dillon appears to be submitted by a bouncer named Chance outside of the Beach Comber Bar and Grill.
The 23-year-old security guard claimed that he didn't know who Dillon was despite the jiu-jitsu black belt having over a million followers on social media.
“I can’t believe I’m talking about Dillon Danis, who I refer to as ‘Dildo Danis’ − which is a little immature, but it fits him perfectly,” Micheal said during an episode of his MMA Wrap-Up show.
“He’s a stain on mixed martial arts, and I wouldn’t normally give him the time of day − the guy hardly ever fights.
"I think he’s had two fights for Bellator, he’s best known for being Conor McGregor ’s number one coat rider, if you know what I mean.
"Apparently, he’s good at jiu-jitsu or whatever, I think he’s got plenty of losses in that world as well, and he just copies Conor’s whole schtick.
"He’s a very, very, very, very, poor man’s Conor McGregor.
"He’s like a broke version of Conor McGregor that’s lost all his money, he’s gone broke, he’s hit rock bottom. And that’s what you’re left with, that’s ‘Dildo Danis’”.
Dillon was also at the centre of the row, which erupted following Conor's defeat by Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018.
The Russian submitted Conor in the fourth round before scaling the cage and leaping into the crowd in search of Dillon.
"I jumped on him because other corner is too old; because Conor’s other corner, other coaches, too old, and that’s why I jumped on him… because he’s almost like my age," recalled Khabib.
"If I jumped on [coach John] Kavanagh, I don’t think it’s too − because Kavanagh can’t fight me. That’s why I jumped on [Dillon] Danis." – Agencies, September 30, 2021
