KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Football League (MFL) in collaboration with global sports brand Puma and its distributor partner Active Sports today launched the official ball for Malaysia League 2022 matches involving the Super League, Premier League, TM Malaysia Cup, FA Cup and Challenge Cup.
After making its first appearance in the country’s professional football league through its special edition ball in conjunction with 100 Years of TM Malaysia Cup last season, Puma is now ready to add vibrancy and excitement to Malaysia League 2022 through its official MFL Accelerate 21.1 Pro ball.
Puma’s presence provides huge recognition to the Malaysia League which is now the first football tournament in Asia to use Puma’s latest ball technology after Spain’s LaLiga and EFL competitions namely Sky Bet Championship, League One, League Two, Carabao Cup and Papa John’s Trophy.
Football is constantly evolving as Malaysia League players compete to improve their skill levels and Puma – through its MFL Accelerate 21.1 Pro ball – will enable every player to display their best performance.
Produced using modern technology, the special edition ball is designed through high frequency for excellent shape retention, durability and reduced water absorption.
The unique 8-panel configuration also reduces the number of stitches resulting in a larger panel for better connection with the ball.
While the 1.2mm 3D-textured PU surface is integrated for aerodynamics to improve durability, the newly-developed POE foam can improve touch by increasing sensitivity, providing a firmer touch as well as better bounce consistency.
In addition to its high-technology design to complement various styles of modern football games, the MFL Accelerate 21.1 Pro ball which is recognised by football governing body FIFA showcases an attractive pattern with white as the main colour embroidered with blue, red and yellow resembling the colours of Jalur Gemilang.
The large Puma logo can be seen on the ball’s surface along with the MFL logo. The ball is available exclusively at Active Sports, selected Puma stores and puma.com with prices ranging from RM49 to RM559.
