SEPANG – Six-time MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez’s testing for the season is off to a shaky start as he crashed twice during the first official test session here at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) today.

Both incidents were confirmed by the Repsol Honda Team’s social media.

“A small crash for @marcmarquez93. Rider OK and back in the garage. #SepangTest,” said Repsol Honda on Twitter.

His first crash occurred around 11.30am, an hour and a half into the testing session.

The rider was declared fine and was able to continue testing later during the day.

However, the second incident happened towards the end of the test session at 5.30pm.

“A fall at Turn 15 for @marcmarquez93. Rider OK and already back in the pits,” Repsol Honda tweeted.

Marquez was cleared to be part of the MotoGP Testing here at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) after being diagnosed with diplopia in October 2021.

He also suffered from injuries to his humerus in 2020 after crashing heavily in Jerez, leaving him unable to participate in the 2021 season.

The 2022 MotoGP Test will be carried out over two days here at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC), before moving to the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit, Indonesia for the first time to hold the second round of testing for the year.

The first race of the 2022 MotoGP calendar will begin at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar on March 6. – The Vibes, February 5, 2022.
