KUALA LUMPUR – Datuk Dr P.S. Nathan retained the Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress (MTBC) president’s post for the 2022-2024 term at their annual grand meeting (AGM) held yesterday.
Dr Nathan, who founded the MTBC in 1974 and has been its president since then, was once again given the mandate to lead after none of the eligible candidates challenged him at the AGM.
The AGM which was attended by 13 out of 15 affiliated members also saw Datuk Mohd Najeeb Abdullah returned unopposed for the MTBC deputy president’s post.
Amateur Sarawak Bowling Association (Abas) vice-president Robert Lu Nam Min, was unanimously elected as the senior vice president replacing Kenny Yap, who stepped down due to work commitments.
Former national bowling queen cum secretary of Selangor Tenpin Bowling Association, Shalin Zulkifli, was elected as one of the vice-presidents for each zone alongside Hidzir Ahmad (Kedah), Mazlan Said (Melaka), Zamzuriadi Shamsudin (Pahang) and Rozzainny Sham Talip (Sabah).
Six individuals were elected as the councillors for the 2022-2024 term namely Helmy Sharudin Che Ya (Kedah), Sunny Si (Sarawak), Mohd Farid (Selangor), Rosliza Haron (Kelantan), Mat Salleh Jalani (Terengganu) and Bakhtiari Effendie (Putrajaya).
Meanwhile, Choo Yew Kuen retained his post uncontested as the honorary treasurer while Maradona Chok was appointed by Dr Nathan as the secretary-general. – Bernama, March 7, 2022
