KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia’s top tower runner Soh Wai Ching has won his 12th consecutive competition after bagging the 2022 Dubai Holding SkyRun in Jumeirah Emirates Towers today with a timing of 7m 2s in the elite category.

In a statement, he said he was happy that he had won his first and last international tournament this year in Dubai.

Wai Ching said everything was going well until another runner crashed into him when trying to make a turn.

“After falling down the stairs and losing my place at the top, I had to quickly regain focus. It was a difficult run from that point onward.

“I decided to sprint and stay behind the leading runner because other runners were right behind us, moving at a pretty fast pace.”

Wai Ching beat more than 250 competitors in a race to the top of the 52-floor Jumeirah Emirates Towers in the 17th edition of the tournament, involving three categories – elite, open and team.

He also made history by winning the Empire State Building Run Up in October. – The Vibes, November 12, 2022
