KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) will conduct an inquiry on the recent incident involving national player, Hanis Nadiah, early next week.

The MHC Disciplinary Committee will call in the player concerned for the inquiry as part of its investigation on her social media post.

The findings of the inquiry will be submitted to Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh, for her further action.

Earlier, it was understood that Hanis had left a racist comment against some 60,000 Malaysian Indians who attended the concert of Indian music director AR Rahman on Saturday at the Bukit Jalil National stadium.

It was believed that the 26-year-old used the racial slur “smelly” to describe the Malaysian Indians.

However, after receiving backlash from netizens, the player issued a public statement of apology and has since deleted the offensive comment. – The Vibes, January 31, 2023
