PETALING JAYA – To ensure the Harimau Malaya keep flying high on the international front, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has extended its partnership agreement with Malaysia Aviation Group Bhd (MAG), the parent company of Malaysia Airlines Bhd.

The extension is for three years, starting from January 2024 until December 2026. The current agreement is set to expire at the end of this year.

The new deal was signed at a hotel in Petaling Jaya after the FAM’s 59th annual congress today.

Representing the FAM at the signing was secretary-general Noor Azman Rahman and representing MAG was its group chief marketing officer Lau Yin May. The event was witnessed by FAM president Datuk Hamidin Amin and MAG chief executive Ahmad Luqman Azmi.

According to Hamidin, the presence of Malaysia Airlines as an official airline partner since 2019 has greatly contributed to the successes achieved by the Harimau Malaya.

“Representing the ranks of the FAM executive committee members as well as the entire FAM workforce, we are very pleased at the extension of this cooperation with MAG where the largest aviation organisation in the country continues to trust the Harimau Malaya brand.

“The good relationship between FAM and MAG over the past five years gives an important message to the national squad supporters out there that FAM is not only able to provide added value to its sponsors but can also have a positive impact on the country’s economic sector.

“Without MAG, FAM’s vision to see Harimau Malaya fly far will certainly not be achieved. Hopefully this strategic relationship will continue to raise the profile of FAM and MAG on the international stage,” said Hamidin. – The Vibes, July 1, 2023
