THE parents of six-year-old autistic boy Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matin arrived at the Sessions Court in Petaling Jaya at 8am today, ahead of a key ruling on their criminal charges.
Zaim Ikhwan Zahari and Ismanira Abdul Manaf, both 30, are facing charges of neglecting their son in a manner likely to cause him physical harm in the vicinity of Block R, Idaman Apartment, Damansara Damai, up to the nearby river area between noon on 5 December and 9.55pm on 6 December 2023.
The court is scheduled to decide whether the couple will be called to enter their defence or be acquitted at the close of the prosecution’s case.
Zaim Ikhwan was seen wearing a light blue shirt and dark trousers, while Ismanira appeared in a long black top and jeans.
Presiding Judge Dr Syahliza Warnoh is expected to deliver the decision at 9am.
Zayn Rayyan was reported missing on 5 December last year, and his body was discovered the following day in a stream near his residence. - July 21, 2025
