WUHAN – Authorities in Covid-19 ground zero Wuhan today said three frozen beef samples have tested positive for the virus.
The batch of meat, totalling 27 tonnes and packed in 1,006 boxes, was imported from Brazil.
It arrived in the eastern Chinese city of Qingdao on August 7, after which it was moved to a warehouse here 10 days later.
The meat has not entered the market, reported the Xinhua news agency.
Local authorities have sealed the product, quarantined and tested workers, and disinfected the area.
As of this morning, 200 environmental samples gathered from the warehouse and 112 employees tested negative for the coronavirus. – Bernama, November 13, 2020
