AYUH Malaysia is set to unveil two social enterprise ventures, Fleximart and Kesum, this November, aiming to provide affordable food and groceries while creating employment opportunities for young Malaysians.

Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, who relaunched the Ayuh Malaysia social platform recently said Fleximart, opening on 1 November at 35, Jalan Plumbum U7/U, Shah Alam, will operate as a convenience store focused on ready-to-eat meals priced under RM5 alongside low-cost grocery items.

Similarly, Kesum, opening on 8 November at 25, Jalan Pandan Indah 1/20, Pandan Indah, follows a value-meal concept inspired by the kesum leaf, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner for under RM5 with the motto “Asal Kenyang, Sedap dan Murah” – roughly translated as “Full, Tasty, and Cheap.”

The Pandan MP said: “Both outlets adopt a social enterprise model, with profits shared among investors, employees, and the community. Higher profits translate into better wages for staff and funds to maintain low prices for customers.”

“I am not certain if this pioneering model will succeed. My aim is to open more job opportunities for young people and help the public by offering affordable food and goods,” said the initiative’s founder.

He added that successful experiments could lead to further expansion, training more youth to own and operate their own businesses while providing even more affordable products.

People are invited to attend the opening of Fleximart at 10am on Saturday, 1 November, and Kesum at 9am on Saturday, 8 November.

“God willing, I will be making coffee, preparing food, and joining the crew at Fleximart and Kesum on those days,” he said. - October 28, 2025
