KUALA LUMPUR – Former attorney-general Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali cited personal commitments as the reason behind his resignation from Metronic Global Bhd’s board of directors.

According to a Bursa Malaysia filing yesterday, his resignation as independent and non-executive chairman of the engineering firm’s board would be effective immediately.

DagangNews reported that Apandi, 72, was appointed last July.

In a separate Bursa filing, Metronic Global’s non-executive deputy chairman Datuk Seri Tan Choon Hwa also resigned after being appointed as an adviser.

Meanwhile, Metronic closed at 9 sen, up 2 sen (28.6%) from yesterday.

On July 12, the company said in a statement that its joint venture with Earthtech Sdn Bhd for the construction and installation of solar PV facilities, as part of power purchase agreements in Kedah totalling RM50 million, will be completed by Q4 this year.

In addition the JV company – Sinaran PPA – is in the midst of negotiations on potential solar leasing contracts with owners of buildings in Selangor, Kedah, Penang and Perak with a total proposed size of 29,260 kWp and an estimated total contracts value of RM300 million for a term of 25 years. – The Vibes, July 15, 2022
