KUALA LUMPUR – FGV Holdings Bhd announced the redesignation of Datuk Shahrol Anuwar Sarman, a government-appointed director on the FGV board of directors, as interim chairman effective today. 

In a statement, FGV said he will assume this new role until the appointment of a new chairman by the Special Shareholder of FGV. 

The redesignation is following the expiry of the tenure of previous chairman Datuk Dzulkifli Abd Wahab on March 31, 2023. 

Shahrol Anuwar, 49, has vast experience in leadership roles locally and globally. He held various positions within the Finance Ministry (MoF) and was the undersecretary of the ministry’s strategic investment division from 2019 to 2022.  

Currently, he is the director of the National Budget Office, MoF. 

He holds a Master of Business Administration from Cardiff University, Wales, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Universiti Teknologi Mara. – Bernama, April 1, 2023
