KUALA LUMPUR – Ledang MP Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh has been appointed Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) non-executive chairman effective April 1.

The two-term representative has a bachelor of business administration (BBA) from the University of Wisconsin in the United States, and a master of business administration (MBA) from St Louis University, US, from 1982 to 1988.

Syed Ibrahim has extensive experience in the telecommunications field, having been at Telekom Malaysia for 25 years from 1989 to 2014, according to a statement today.

He is experienced in customer relationship management, project management, marketing and trade sales, segmentation and analysis, as well as management of information technology and systems. His last position was as assistant general manager.

He also has experience leading Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (Yadim), a trust under the prime minister, as a member of the board of trustees for a year.

Syed Ibrahim was also Johor PKR chief between 2018 and 2022. – The Vibes, April 6, 2023
