Crude palm oil stocks slip 1.72% in November

KUALA LUMPUR – The country’s crude palm oil (CPO) stocks fell 1.72% to 725,198 tonnes last month from 737,919 tonnes in October, said the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).

Processed palm oil stocks rose by 0.43% month-on-month (m-o-m) to 839,307 tonnes in November from the 835,746 tonnes a month ago, the board said in its monthly report on the industry’s performance.

During the month under review, CPO production slid 13.51% m-o-m to 1.49 million tonnes from 1.72 million tonnes previously, while palm kernel output was 16.26% lower at 350,144 tonnes from the previous 418,121 tonnes.

“Palm oil exports fell 22.16% to 1.30 million tonnes in November versus 1.67 million tonnes in the previous month, while oleochemical exports slipped marginally by 0.10% to 262,504 tonnes from the 262,757 tonnes previously.”

Meanwhile, biodiesel exports in the month under review dipped 10.19% to 20,305 tonnes compared with 22,609 tonnes in October, while palm kernel oil exports fell 34.76% to 91,747 tonnes from 140,640 tonnes in the preceding month.

Exports of palm kernel cake decreased 13.62% to 217,753 tonnes in November from 252,074 tonnes the previous month. – Bernama, December 10, 2020
