SEVEN Malaysian music acts are set to perform virtually at the inaugural edition of Music Lane Festival Okinawa, which starts today from 11am (SGT) and wraps up at 9pm (SGT) tomorrow.
Representing the country will be Jemson, Skits, Golden Mammoth, FAZZ, Court 10, The Filters and Capt Trips n The Kid, who are curated by Malaysian festival organisers City ROARS!
According to City ROARS!, the bands are among 33 up-and-coming acts from across the region, and who will perform virtually through pre-recorded sets, while acts from Japan will perform live – making the event a hybrid online-offline festival.
The Music Lane Festival will also be held simultaneously in two cities across Japan – Naha and Okinawa, with strict SOPs and audience limitations set to curb the spread of the coronavirus, City ROARS! said in a statement.
Headlining the festival are legendary Japanese acts Shonen Knife, and Eastern Youth, among others
The festival has also announced the addition of multiple East and Southeast Asian acts to its line-up.

Other than Malaysia, the groups of musicians set to appear in the festival are from Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Mongolia and South Korea.
The other performers include Thailand’s YONLAPA, H3F and My Life As Ali Thomas, Philippines’ She’s Only Sixteen, Syd Hartha and KRNA, Singapore’s Shye, YAØ, Shirly Temple, Woes, Shak’thiya and HubbaBubbas.
"Also on the bill are Mongolian artists Mohanik, The Colors, Nisvanis, and Magnolian wrap up. Whilst Korea will be representing by Cotoba, No.1 Korean, and The Sound," City ROARS! said.
"And last but not least, lightcraft, Tanayu, Prince Hussein, Pretty Rico, Bedchamber, Jeslla, and Iris Bevy from Indonesia."
The acts mentioned will perform as part of the Trans Asia Music Meeting (TAMM) selection showcase at the festival.
