MALAYSIAN Synth Pop Band, Late Night Frequency (LNF) recently released their debut single, 'Fun Lust Love' with an accompanying music video.
The new track and video were uploaded on all major streaming services on Tuesday (April 20) after premiering on indie music and culture platform TAPAU Asia's website.
'Fun Lust Love' is taken from LNF's upcoming album and the independent band from Putrajaya notes their music draws heavily from synth pop and synthwave subgenres.
The upbeat track infuses city pop and a modern take on the 80s vibe. LNF's frontman Moja, wrote the number last year as it was the only thing that kept him "sane" during the first lockdown.
"Fun Lust Love is actually a track I produced by myself in my bedroom. I was at a point of my life where I stayed away from music for a year as I was focusing on my day job as a doctor, part of it due to commitment but mostly because majority of people around me pushed me towards becoming a full-time health practitioner and to forget my past life as an indie musician," he told The Vibes recently.

He said he had missed everything about life as a musician, whether it involved composing, recording, producing, late-night jamming sessions, and performing live.
"I came up with this track, where there’s a part saying, 'I made it for fun, still came out alive, I’m addicted to your love' which pretty much sums up the track of us having a huge passion towards something, anything, that we hold dear so much," he said.
"It could be seen as something with potential for us, maybe not for others, but hey, we could always have fun with it and end up enjoying it. It’s my way of giving a tribute and celebrate music."
Moja said he took his time writing and producing the track in between "crazy" work shifts, as he was still trying to master the use of the Ableton, his go-to digital audio workstation (DAW).
"I explored many new ways to design my own sounds rather than the traditional way of plugging the guitar to an amp and play. I recorded the synths, guitars, bass, the vocals and also programmed the drums on my own," he said.
"Then I shared it with my musician colleague, Faizul Hakim, where he recorded acoustic drums on top, re-recorded the bass and added some more guitar lines. This was even before Late Night Frequency (LNF) was born, hence, the other current band members were not involved (at the time)."
The video was made by producers Juicy Brain and Alam Bunyian, in their first ever collaboration, which took a cinematic approach and is narrated as a short-film.
The plot kicks off in a bedroom where the main character, a girl, enters a fantasy world with a playful werewolf by accident. She then returns to her bedroom to discover the werewolf is now in her reality.

LNF recently made their debut live performance during Malaysia’s first #HariGigKebangsaan at Alam Bunyian’s Disko Senyap, a silent-disco themed gig in Ruang, Subang Jaya on April 11.
LNF is set to release more singles and MVs later this year, leading up to their debut album launch, 'Diskografi' by the end of this year.
'Diskografi' will feature nine or 10 English and Malay tracks, and collaborations with hip hop artists such as Asyraf Nasir, Aiman Nomad, and Ichu.
While a new band, its members consist of musicians from various indie bands, notably Monalyssa, Kolar Hijau, Shuuna and A. Limin.
Although 'Fun Lust Love' was produced by LNF themselves, the track was mixed and mastered by Taja of indie pioneers Meet Uncle Hussain and Taja Archive Publishing, and is distributed by Spinnup, a digital music distributor owned by Universal Music Group. – The Vibes, April 25, 2021
