KUALA LUMPUR – It’s time to enter the realm of infinite possibilities and explore the unexpected, as Marvel Studios’ first-ever animated series “What If…?” premieres today, August 11 exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar.
Flipping the script on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), “What If…?” brings back fan favourite characters such as Peggy Carter, T’Challa, Dr Strange, Killmonger, Thor and more as each episode reimagines famous events from MCU films in wildly unique ways.
Jeffrey Wright joins the voice cast as The Watcher, a cosmic overseer who introduces audiences each week to the alternate storylines in the “What If…?” multiverse.
The series will also see the return of more than 50 MCU cast members reprising their iconic roles, including Angela Bassett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Hemsworth, Clark Gregg, Cobie Smulders, Danai Gurira, Dominic Cooper, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, Evangeline Lilly, Hayley Atwell, Jeff Goldblum, Jeremy Renner, Jon Favreau, Josh Brolin, Karen Gillan, Mark Ruffalo, Michael B Jordan, Natalie Portman, Paul Bettany, Paul Rudd, Rachel McAdams, Samuel L Jackson, Sebastian Stan, Stanley Tucci, Taika Waititi, Tom Hiddleston and many more!
Directed by Bryan Andrews with AC Bradley as head writer, 'What If…?' is executive produced by Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Bryan Andrews and AC Bradley.
Carrie Wassenaar is producer, and editors are Graham Fisher and Joel Fisher. Paul Lasaine is production designer, Ryan Meinerding is head of visual development and character design, and Stephan Franck is animation supervisor.
