KUALA LUMPUR – Renowned educationist Prof Datuk Sidek Baba has died at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre last night.

His death was confirmed by his son, Izzudin through a Facebook post, in which he shared that his father’s body was still at the medical centre pending the results of a Covid-19 confirmation test.

“May my father’s soul be blessed and may he be placed among the righteous,” he posted.

Sidek, 76, was born in Kg Pulau, Masjid Tanah, Melaka.

He was a recipient of the National Maulidur Rasul Perdana Award 2009 and was appointed as a member of the National Education Advisors’ Council in 2010 and International Islamic University of Malaysia Deputy Rector (Student Development Affairs) from 1994 and 2002. – Bernama, November 26, 2022
