KUALA LUMPUR – On Tuesday night, Malaysia took on Bangladesh in the final group match of the 2023 Asian Cup qualifier at the Bukit Jalil national stadium, where the national team won 4-1.
Many had said that it was an easy match for Malaysia because they faced a lower-ranked team but those who watched the match in the stadium would have seen the energy levels and dedication from both teams were equal.
Bangladesh are currently ranked 188 while Malaysia are 154th in the FIFA World rankings.
Harimau Malaya, knowing that only a win would take them to the 2023 Asian Cup on merit after 42 years played their hearts out and followed through with national head coach Kim Pan-gon’s tactics to win the match in style.
Besides the players, supporters from both countries electrified the atmosphere at Bukit Jalil through their cheers and joy.
