THE phenomenon of the moon turning blood red or a full lunar eclipse can be witnessed by the public starting at 7.04 pm this evening.
According to the Malaysian Space Agency (Mysa), this phenomenon will occur for 58 minutes, with the peak of the eclipse occurring at 7.33 pm and the full phase ending at 8.02 pm.
"A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth is between the sun and the moon so that the Earth's shadow covers the entire surface of the moon.
"This phenomenon causes the moon to appear reddish," it said.
Mysa said this phenomenon can be witnessed in East Asia, Australia, the Pacific Ocean, North America and Central America.
Meanwhile, in Central Asia and most of South America, only a Partial Lunar Eclipse will occur. – March 3, 2026
