KUALA LUMPUR – Throughout these incredibly trying times, Malaysian frontliners have worked tirelessly to deliver and meet the needs of Malaysians, risking their safety for the wellbeing of the nation.

From the incredible healthcare workers who have worked around the clock to provide care and support, to the security forces who have manned the many checkpoints across the country, Malaysian frontliners have once again shown just how essential they are.

In conjunction with the National Month, Pos Malaysia is paying tribute to Malaysian frontliners by launching a set of special edition stamps. The collection is to acknowledge and celebrate their courage, commitment and devotion to the country.

Philately and art lovers will be pleased to know that the special edition stamps were designed by Red Hong Yi. The Malaysian contemporary artist is also known as “the artist who paints without a paintbrush”.

Affectionately known as Red, she creates mixed-media installations by reinterpreting everyday materials through the accumulation of objects. By combining traditional craftsmanship and digital technology, she creates work that considers perceptual habits and preconceptions of the chosen objects and subjects.

Exclusively designed in the form of sketches, the set comprises four stamps with the theme ‘Barisan Hadapan Covid-19’ featuring frontliners from the Ministry of Health (MOH), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM).

Pos Malaysia Berhad group head of channel management & customer experience Azmil Othman Merican said: “Pos Malaysia is honoured to issue the ‘Barisan Hadapan Covid-19’ stamp edition.

"From across the 11 states and two federal territories in West Malaysia to two states and one federal territory in East Malaysia, these unbelievably brave Malaysians have been indispensable in helping all of us get through each day, each week and each month.

"Whilst this beautiful stamp edition is dedicated to Malaysia’s critical front liners, we are equally proud of our postmen and couriers, all of whom have worked tirelessly to keep Malaysia connected."
