LISA Marie Presley, Elvis Presley’s only child, has died at the age of 54, her representative confirmed to the press. On Thursday, she was rushed to the hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest at her home in Calabasas, California.

According to a report from TMZ, paramedics performed CPR on Presley and were able to regain her pulse before transporting her to a hospital for further treatment. The incident was confirmed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

In a previous statement, Presley's mother, Priscilla, wrote on Facebook: “My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care. Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel the prayers from around the world and ask for privacy during this time.”

This unfortunate event occurred just two days after Lisa Marie and Priscilla Presley walked the Golden Globes carpet and were at the “Elvis” table for the Golden Globe award ceremony.

Lisa Marie Presley experienced a tumultuous childhood, including her parents' divorce at age five and her father's death at nine.

She struggled with drug use before turning to Scientology. In an interview with Playboy, she revealed that her mother's boyfriend had been inappropriate with her. She inherited her father’s massive estate, including Graceland, which is now a tourist attraction.

She also ran Elvis Presley Enterprises, which was valued at US$100 million (RM433.55 million). In 2005, she sold most of the estate's business shares to Industrial Media but kept control of Graceland.

In addition to managing her father's legacy, Lisa Marie has also had a career as a musician, releasing three studio albums in the 2000s and early 2010s. She is the mother of actor Riley Keough, who has starred in films such as ‘Zola’, ‘The Devil All the Time’, and ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’.

She has been married four times, including to musician Danny Keough, actor Nicolas Cage, and Michael Jackson. Her son Benjamin Keough passed away in 2020 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. – The Vibes, January 13, 2023
