DJ Dasz, whose real name is Kalidassh Punusamy, has made an impressive achievement by successfully setting a record in the Malaysia Book of Records.

He accomplished the feat by performing the "Longest Non-Stop DJ Mixing Walk" for 12 hours, 27 minutes, and 22 seconds, covering about 31 kilometres.

DJ Dasz played a variety of music genres such as Tamil, Hindi, Malay, Chinese, English, Thai, and EDM songs during his route which started at Brickfields through Petaling Street, Pavilion KLCC before ending in Petaling Jaya.

In an interview with Varnam Malaysia, DJ Dasz revealed that he was inspired by DJ Suat, who had attempted a similar feat before, but had not set any records.

DJ Dasz expressed that he faced difficulties during the attempt and nearly gave up after seven hours, but the support of the thousands of viewers on TikTok motivated him to keep going.

He had never walked such a long distance before, and he credits positive response from Malaysians who were happy to hear his Malay slang and fluency in the language.

DJ Dasz attributed his own experience of rejections in the industry as motivation to attempt this feat and credits his family for being a support system to achieve this.

His entire family got involved in this endeavour, including father-in-law Arumugam Periasamy who designed the DJ deck frame, his mother-in-law Indarani Nadeson who cooked and provided a first aid kit, his wife and son for the constant encouragement.

Moving forward, DJ Dasz plans to embark on entrepreneurship by selling his own brand of masala tea, called “Dasz Masala Party Tea” on Tik Tok. – The Vibes, March 18, 2023
