A MOTORCYCLIST and his pillion passenger were thrown off their vehicle when a car with a Singaporean registration plate suddenly swerved into the emergency lane along the North-South Expressway yesterday.

The incident occurred at about 1.45pm at KM 123.2 of the expressway.

According to Batu Pahat police chief Ismail Dollah, the 52-year-old driver from Singapore lodged a police report at the Yong Peng police station about three hours later.

“We urge the motorcyclist concerned and others who witnessed the incident to also lodge a report.

“Our initial investigations revealed the incident occurred when the car suddenly swerved into the emergency lane from the left lane,” he said.

Based on viral footage, the blue Citroen, which was waiting behind a bus, turned into the emergency lane without any indication, causing the motorcyclist to crash into it.

Due to the impact of the crash, both the motorcyclist and the pillion passenger were thrown off the vehicle. – The Vibes, February 13, 2024
