THE Ministry of Finance (MoF) has denied that former Permatang Pauh MP, Nurul Izzah Anwar was a paid adviser to the Economic Stimulus Implementation and Coordination Unit Between National Agencies (Laksana).
In a post on X, the ministry said the so-called agreement document published on social media is an invalid draft of an offer letter.
The ministry described the accusation as "complete slander", and that the PKR vice-president was performing the role pro bono and not receiving any benefits.
“The viral post is an outright slander,” the ministry said in the post today.
A Facebook user had earlier in a post, claimed that Nurul Izzah was appointed as an advisor to Laksana and received a monthly salary of RM35,000 and had two staffers paid between RM5,000 and RM20,000.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Nurul Izzah, who is also the prime minister's daughter, said she would lodge a police report over the matter after the Chinese New Year holidays.
