A 14-YEAR-OLD student in Tawau got into a tight spot this morning when she got stuck in her chair while in class.

Fire and rescue personnel had to be called in to free the Sekolah Kebangsaan Tawau II secondary school around 9 am.

A team of nine firefighters deployed to the scene had to use a hydraulic cutter to cut the chair in two to free the student.

Tawau Fire Station Chief Jemishin Ujin said the student sustained only minor injuries in the incident.

"The victim was sent to the hospital and after ensuring there were no other hazards, the operation was concluded," he said in a statement. - November 5, 2024
